This is my resolution for 2026.
They say your dog is your best friend for part of your life, but you’re their best friend for their whole life. Bruce was my first dog, and I didn’t know a heart could stretch that wide or break that hard.
I always feel a strange kind of paralysis that comes from waiting for the “perfect” moment. But the truth is, perfect moments rarely arrive neatly wrapped with a bow.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately (what else is there to do?) about the idea of curating my life. Not in the “Pinterest board” way, where everything is perfectly color-coordinated and photogenic, but in the quieter, more intentional sense.
“Every human contact is made smooth by etiquette, or awkward by lack of it” Emily Post was onto something there. Not because she told us which salad fork to use. But because she reminded us thatshared rituals, however small, can bring calm to the chaos.
