Greetings from down under!
Even though I wasn’t born here, I’m Aussie by choice, so I’ve decided to put on a little red dress, decorate the house and throw a party.
Growing up in Brazil, passion fruit mousse was a part of day to day things. You’d find it in every street fair, every bakery around the corner, every birthday party. Today I was feeling a little homesick, so, I figured, nothing like the sweet taste of Brazilian summer to put me back in a good mood.
Summer could not get here soon enough. After this weird rainy spring that felt like winter all along, I cannot wait for warmer days.
Let’s celebrate the arrival of summer with a sweet tropical drink, shall we?
This Black Sangria recipe will be the talk of your Halloween party. Not only is delicious, but is also an easy peasy, no fuss, make ahead kind of drink, perfect for entertaining, you spend less time in the kitchen and more time with your guests.
With its quirky characters, gratuitous violence and witty humor, the Umbrella Academy quickly became one of my favorite shows of all time. Now second season is about to start, and to commemorate it, I baked delicious sugar cookies and decorated them inspired by each one of the characters from the show.
This delicious winter treat is usually enjoyed over Christmas (hence the name) by the northerners, who have the privilege of experiencing a snowy winter wonderland. I’m always so jealous. So, since this is the year to try new things, here I am, making a Christmas cocktail in the middle of July, pretending is snowing outside, waiting for Santa to bring us some toilet paper or something.
Happy apple pie day, everyone! Yes, this is a made up social media holiday, most likely an American invention, but since is autumn here down under, may 13th is actually a perfect day for baking apple pies.
This week I though I try my hand at a pecan pie, my first ever. And, let me tell you, it will certainly not be the last. With a buttery flakey crust, a gooey maple flavoured filling and crunchy delicious pecans on top, what a yummy pie this is.
Happy Valentine’s Day! To celebrate this year, I made maraschino cherry flavoured macarons with an white chocolate ganache filling. They came out finger licking great. Crunchy and chewy and really delicious.
Salted caramel is the most perfect example of opposites attracting. How something so delicious can be made even more delicious by adding something that should ruin it is one of the great mysteries of life.
