DIY Heart Shaped Paper Box
Paper Box
Handmade gifts are the best, specially when it comes to Valentine’s Day. I guess I’m a cheap date, I’ll take stolen flowers over diamonds any day. But if you disagree, I still think diamond earrings would feel extra special if they came in a handmade paper box.
Instructions:
1.
Download the paper box template by clicking below.
You’ll need 2 for each box (one base and one top) plus 2 extra hearts (optional, but recommended for a prettier finish).
These can be same colour/pattern as the box or different for extra cuteness.
2.
Cut along the continuous line and score the dotted ones. If you don’t have a scoring tool, you can use a pointy, but blunt object such as a needle or plastic knife. I always use a seam ripper from my sewing kit.
3.
Fold the large bottom flap over the heart and glue along the edge.
4.
Continue to glue all flaps, one at a time, over the heart until you reach the bottom again.
5.
Once you reach the end, fold the last flap inside and glue it on the side.
6.
Add some glue around the bottom of the extra heart and glue it inside the box. It will hide all the flaps and make it prettier and more sturdy.
7.
You can use different colours and fun patterns for extra cuteness.
8.
Do the same thing all over again to create a lid. Insert one inside of the other and you are done.
What goes inside? The box measures roughly 8cm x 8cm, which is big enough for 3 macarons, a very special love note or some bling bling.
